Cream the butter and sugar in a mixer at high speed.
At low speed, add the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla.
Add the flour, the salt and the baking powder. Set aside.
Pour all the berries into a cake pan.
Pour the cake mix over the fruit as evenly as possible.
Bake at 375 °F (190 °C) for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until a knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean, without any uncooked batter stuck to it.
Using a knife, detach the cake from all sides of the pan. Turn the cake over to serve it.
Optional: serve the cake with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or vanilla-flavoured Greek yogurt.
