Butter a rectangular baking dish 13 in. x 9 in. (33 cm x 23 cm). Set aside.In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup and vanilla.Spread 5 slices of bread over the bottom of the dish and pour half the egg mixture over top.Place 2 marshmallows on each bread slice, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and then cover with the rest of the bread slices.Pour the rest of the egg mixture, cover the pan with foil and refrigerate 12 hours.Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).Keep covered with foil and bake on the centre rack of the oven for 20 minutes.Remove the foil and bake another 30 minutes.Let cool 5 minutes. Slice into 4 or 6 portions and serve with the Quebec strawberries.Sprinkle with icing sugar if desired.
