Preheat oven to 400°F.Place Cheerios and sliced almonds in a large resealable bag and crush with a rolling pin into coarse crumbs. Pour mix into a sieve and sift out the fine powdered Cheerios into a bowl and set aside. Transfer remaining coarse crumbs to a large plate.Cut chicken into 1 to 2 bite nuggets.Transfer to a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and garlic. Add reserved Cheerio powder to the chicken and toss to coat.Dip each nugget into the egg, shaking off any excess and press into Cheerio crumbs to coat.Arrange nuggets on a parchment lined baking sheet in a single layer. Spray lightly with oil spray and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden.Serve drizzled with honey garlic sauce and a sprinkling of green onion.
