Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).Core apples three-quarters through.Pare top 2 in. (5 cm) or so to prevent splitting during cooking.In a bowl, combine brown sugar with butter and cinnamon.Stuff apples halfway up and add cranberries and raisins.Add remaining brown sugar mix.Top with nuts.Put stuffed apples in a buttered baking dish.Add ginger ale.Bake in the centre of the oven for 50 minutes or until apples are tender.Garnish with cinnamon sticks and serve with ice cream.
