Preheat oven to 400°F/200°C.
To a mid-sized casserole three-quarters filled with water, add the vinegar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat until simmering lightly.
Break an egg in a bowl and then place it carefully in the water. Cook the eggs one by one for 3 minutes each.
Meanwhile, toast the English muffins in the toaster and butter them.
Drain each cooked egg and place them on one half of each toasted English muffin.
On each egg, add a slice of cheese. Place on an ovenware plate and let the cheese melt for a minute in the oven.
In the meantime, garnish the remaining English muffin halves with salmon caviar and season.
Serve immediately.
