Dulce de leche :
In a thick-bottomed saucepan, place the Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk, label removed and covered with cold water. Heat until boiling.
When the water boils, lower the heat to medium low and simmer for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, remove the can from the water and let completely cool before opening the can.
French toast casserole and topping :
In a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, place the bread cubes, blueberries, and walnuts. Gently combine and set aside.
In a bowl, combine the milk, eggs, ground cinnamon, and dulce de leche. Spread the mixture over the bread cubes and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a bowl, combine the flour, oat flakes, ground cinnamon, and butter. Spread over the casserole and cover with aluminum foil.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes covered.
Remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the hot dulce de leche and milk to get a smooth, liquid mixture.
Once out of the oven, pour the hot dulce de leche on top and serve immediately.
