To prepare a delicious lobster meal, here are few tips from your expert fishmonger.
- Grilling lobster Choose smaller lobsters to ensure even cooking and caramelization. Cook a 575 to 675 g (1.2 to 1.5 lb) lobster cut in half for 4 minutes on a very hot grill if it is pre-cooked or 10 to 12 minutes if it is alive. Brush with butter halfway through cooking.
- Steaming lobsterTry to get lobsters that are even in size to ensure they all require the same amount of cooking time. Cook about 12 minutes per lobster.
- Boiling lobsterCook a 450 g (1 lb) male lobster 10 to 12 minutes or a female lobster 12 minutes in 1.5 litres of water with 2 tablespoons of salt. For more details, see our lobster cooking guide.
- Cooked in store for delicious resultsIf you want to save time, our fishmongers can cook your lobster in store, and you can ask them to split or crack it for you. It’ll be cooked to perfection every time and ready to eat or reheat.
- Enjoy seafood with lobster rollsChildren don't always love seafood, but they're sure to appreciate lobster rolls. Simplify your life by choosing lobster that's cooked by your expert fishmonger. Mix the flesh with some mayonnaise, herbs, and a bit of lemon and green pepper. Add the mixture to a hot dog roll and you're all set!
