Romesco sauce:
Place pepper, tomatoes and chili flakes in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
Caramelized onions:
Heat oil in a small skillet, over medium-low heat.
Add onion, garlic, sugar and salt.
Stir occasionally until a deep golden brown, reducing heat if cooking too quickly, about 7 min.
Pizza:
Preheat oven to 450°F (225°C).
Lightly oil a large baking sheet or pizza pan. Using floured fingers, stretch pizza dough very thinly.
Place on baking sheet.
Thinly spread romesco sauce over dough.
Scatter caramelized onions over top followed by sausage then mozzarella cheese.
Bake until base of crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbling, 8 to 10 min depending on thickness of dough.
Meanwhile, toss arugula with lemon juice.
Garnish hot pizza with arugula, pine nuts and pecorino.
