Reserve.For the cake : preheat the oven at 325°F (160°C).Sift the flour and baking powder in a bowl, reserve.In a second bowl, cream the sugar and butter.Add flour mix and milk alternately. Mix well.Pour the mixture into a rectangular cake pan (12 x 8 in. / 32 x 22 cm) slightly greased.Spread the cake batter with a spatula.Pour the sauce over the batter, without mixing.Place in center of oven and bake 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

    maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups
    (375 mL)
    water
  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)
    melted butter
  • cake

  • 1 1/2 cups
    (320 g)
    flour
  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)
    baking powder
  • 1/4 cup
    (60 mL)
    butter
  • 1 cup
    (210 g)
    sugar
  • 1
    eggs
  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)
    milk

Preparation

Combine all the sauce’s ingredients in a saucepan. Reserve.
