    fresh California Bing cherries, washed and pitted (about 2 cups / 500 ml)
  • 1/8 cup
    (35 mL)
    water
  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)
    lemon juice
  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)
    grated lemon zest
  • 1 cup
    (250 mL)
    sugar
  • Cookie dough

  • 1 cup
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup
    (190 mL)
    sugar
  • 1
    eggs
  • 1 tsp.
    (5 mL)
    vanilla or almond extract
  • 2 cups
    (500 mL)
    flour
