Preheat the oven at 210°C (425°F).In a bowl, beat the eggs with the cream and nutmeg. Add the cheese and bacon. Pepper generously.Place the bread slices on a pastry tray covered lined with parchment paper. Pour the cream mixture over the bread and let the liquid absorb for a few minutes.Cook in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. The bottom of the bread should be golden and the cheese melted. Serve hot or room temperature, with maple syrup.
